The Royal Mayan is home to one of Cancun's oldest Mayan ruins, the San Miguelito. This ruin dates to A.D. 900 - 1521 when Cancun was settled by traders, farmers, and fisherman.
At the Royal Yacht Club Marina, complimentary sailing lessons are available, as well as the free use of sailboats (one hour a day, per villa).

The La Palapa is an open-air restaurant located between the pools of the Royal Mayan. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner offering excellent food, unique drinks, friendly service, and great views.
El Conquistador is the Royal Mayan's premier restaurant offering elegant dining, live guitar music, and attentive service. Open daily from 5 - 10:30 p.m. Appropriate attire is requested. Reservations are required.
All of the villas at the Royal Mayan are completely furnished, equipped, and air-conditioned. The villas feature two bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room, dining room, and a kitchen.
The fully equipped kitchen includes everything you need during your time in paradise including a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, and even a blender for making your own tropical drinks!
Both bedrooms open up to a large fully furnished balcony with spectacular views of the pools, the lagoon, or the ocean.
The villas can be used as one unit that is designed to sleep up to 6 or they may be split into two independent units. The master suite sleeps 4 and includes the master bedroom, bathroom, living room with two Murphy Beds, dining room, and kitchen. The hotel room or 'lockoff' sleeps 2 and includes one bedroom and one bathroom.
Unit numbering:
- The letter indicates the building.
- In three-digit numbers the first digit indicates floor number
- In four-digit numbers the first and second digits indicate floor number.
- Because the resort is built over a dune in some buildings the "first floor" is not number 1.
- In three-digit numbers the third digit indicates the unit number, from left to right.
- In four-digit numbers the third and fourth digits indicate the unit number.
For example unit C407 is located in building C, fourth floor (ground level), seventh unit.
All buildings have ocean views, except for building H which is lagoon view. Buildings D, E and M are ocean front.
